The Eye of Wilkins is an acclaimed documentary that brings together for the first time the complete photography and film works of the great Australian, Sir Hubert Wilkins. By virtue of his own efforts and the commissions he was sent on, these images, sourced from across the world, also represent perhaps the most significant collection of the times - the 25 years from 1910 – by any one photographer acting alone.
From the trenches of the Great War to the maiden round the world voyage of the Graf Zeppelin, with vision from his famous flights over the Arctic and Antarctic as well as his infamous submarine travels under the Polar ice cap.
A presentation by the writer and director of this documentary, Peter Maddern, precedes the screening.
